But with regard to the comment "If england had football talents they would be in euro 2008", I'd have to say England does have talent. A wealth of talent. We were moments away from being in the competition but threw it away.

My point here is that bad things happen when you pick your best players with scant regard for the team. In some cases we could argue leaving the likes of Lampard and Gerrard out for the good of the team. Pick your best team not just your best or most high profile players.
Sadly in England the press selects the team.

My frustration with the Nasri signing wan't merely the fact that he was foreign. Personally I'd love to see Kaka and Ronaldhino play in England. It would be thrilling to see. My frustration was with what seemed to be an "automatic" decision to plunder the foreign markets when there is plenty on offer at home. Sadly home grown talent doesn't make the headlines or have the same tabloid impact as splattering a foreign player across the back pages.

Thank you, Mr watchup. Beautifully put. Sadly I have no idea what your comment is about.

I see we have the word 'racist' in there so let me start with that.

I'm not.

There you go.

I see where you're coming from mate, but its not just Jack Wilshere that we have. There's Gibbs, Randall and several others in the reserves as well. I don't see the point comparing our youth to others but I do think that Wenger will give these guys a chance and hopefully they will repay the faith. Don't forget we've got Walcott to look forward to for next season and some others will probably get a run in the Carling Cup.

Totally agree - I'm no Newcastle fan either but Keegan speaks the truth - it will not only take money but a lot of time as well to challenge for the Premiership and make the Champions League.
Ashley not only needs to put up cash and give Keegan time - £50m might be ok this season to make a start but that needs to repeated year on year for 2-3 seasons minimum to build and shape a squad to compete with Chelsea and Liverpool.
I just wonder if Ashley has the stomach for that or if he deep down thinks that Keegan is the wrong man for the job and will force him out over the next few weeks.

My blog now reads RIP London. In my view, the only positive o arrive from the negative of BJ being elected is that it stopped Paddick getting in .. not that he ever had a chance.

But if his victory speech is any indication

...he's a good performer.

The "real Boris Johnson" really isn't a nice guy... I'm glad I don't live in London.
